- One would think they would bring the OS development "home" and also the
- making of the improved chipset "home" (they are already a hardware and
- software group with 2 - 3 engineering groups located across the US).
- Being in the US Dave Haynie can much more easily work on things and the
- guys at Scala besides Dave (HOPEFULLY) could help with improving the OS -
- they already wrote the thing for crying out loud (instead of some
- un-named company in the Black Forest of Germany doing things - heck, keep
- them to help with the PPC port but nothing else). Anywhere they
- can get the chipset made cheaper, faster and in more amounts then do it.
- AT would continue making advertising deals overseas, the building of the
- computers there and dealing with dealers and distribution etc. Moving a
- few things out of Germany now will be a good thing in my opinion.
-
- What about production of monitors though? The 1241? The case design(s)? Etc?
